Butter For Dinner And Meatpacking for the Dessert

Thursday night- remember the college days when you would call it "Thirsty Thursdays?" Well, it felt exactly like that when I was dragged by a friend to a mixer at Avenue that I never knew existed. You could call it a way to network, but I saw it as an excuse to relive those intellectual collegiate moments and dress in all things glittery as an adult. And somehow I managed to find twinsies in their matching financial grey suits and sparkle ties. One of them happened to have a pin striking right through the tie...

"Call it a tie bar!," he said. And so, that night, I learned a little more about men's attire and the accessories that they like to hide to keep from adding more banter about their fashion. However, the most interesting moment of the night was when I came across the shelf stock full of colognes and perfumes near the bathrooms...a bit excessive, but maybe they've been trying to pimp out the guys and gals with a collection of scents chosen by the staff?

Prior to our Thursday evening adventures in the meatpacking district, dinner at Butter was a classy and entertaining three course restaurant week meal filled with girl talk and picture taking (thank you wonderful waitress for putting up with our incessant camera phone picture taking). The food was delicious and portions were the right size. This is how the world should be- for dinner that is.

And now for the final photo...

Magnifique!
