Saturday Temptations and Indulgences

The fall 2012 lookbooks have been out for weeks and the shop windows along madison avenue, fifth avenue, soho, and the likes have been getting people hyped for the fall (by people I meant just myself because we all know people want summer to stay FO-EVA). As much as I love fall for its lookbooks, upcoming fashion week festivities, and fashion night out, there is something about summer and the afternoon outdoor lounges that make you believe a bellini at 3 in the afternoon is quite feasible. Especially a bellini at The Yard of the Soho Grand Hotel. Check it.

A busy Saturday afternoon in Soho has never been so blissful before and this hit the spot. Post afternoon drinks in Soho and I was headed to the LES (lower east side) where I was celebrating a friend's birthday at DL's rooftop. The rooftop is a secret neon rainforest that overlooks the neighborhood and invades on the privacy of the fellow Lower east siders (no not really, but you can see the tops of the buildings from up there). The music was rockin' but not jerkin' enough to make a mess out of yourself on the floor.

You can only find Spongebob Square Pants references on the food menu at DL, which makes this place all the better. Crabby Patty burger? Oh yeah... Nickelodeon old school throwback! The tater tots have never been crisp to perfection before which brings me to the Napoleon Dynamite reference. And while the truffle mac n' cheese doesn't have any sort of pop culture references, it's delicious on its own that it needs no sort of introduction or references. The night overall? Done deal.

P.S. if you're out at DL, look for "Brittain" (server by night, hot GAP model by day)
